Lisa Gade reviews Apple’s high end iPad models for 2017: the iPad Pro 10.5” and the second generation iPad Pro 12.9″. Both feature 600 nit Retina 264 PPI displays with P3 color gamut, True Tone color compensation and ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate displays. They both use the extremely fast Apple A10X CPU, have 4GB RAM and your choice of 64, 256 or 512GB storage. The 10.5” model’s slim bezels mean it almost as compact as the iPad Pro 9.7 it replaces. As ever, the Apple Pencil and keyboard are sold separately. There are WiFi-only and WiFi+ LTE 4G models available. The 10.5” starts at $649 and the 12.9” starts at $799.
** The Apple Pencil wrap is from SlickWraps and the clip is one that I pulled off a ballpoint pen.

Apple is really smart on giving 64gb on the base model of the smaller pro and charging $50 more, but then for just $100 more than that you can go all the way to 256gb. I am not even really close to my 32gb on my current 9.7 pro but $100 for nearly 100 gb more storage on an Apple product is about as good as it gets. It's really hard not to spend that extra $100, especially if you are pretty sure you'll be keeping the new one for at least a few years. I planned on keeping my 32gb pro 9.7 for a while but with the new form factor and 120hz refresh rate screen I have already decided to upgrade when the first sale of at least $100 arrives…i'm not in a rush, lol..i know i may have to wait a couple of months for that deal…

Great video. Thank you!

BiggShawn says:

I would like to get the 12.9 iPad but I'm not sure if apple will continue making them. It seems they would make the 12.9 more powerful. Why get the bigger iPad when the 10.5 have the same specs.

Victor Hugo Lopes says:

A lot of "darn" in this video hahahaha. Good videos as always Congrats

robert says:

Edmundo studios says:

The iPads are really nice now they are packing the power. This was the dream back in 2010 for the future. The current MacBook lineup is pretty weak in my opinion. All the dongles and the touch bar just sucks. Hope they take the feedback on board

firts time watching her videos… they are good!

Robert says:

Not once in the entire video have I seen a reflection on the screens of the 2nd Gen iPads. While at 10:25, in the side-by-side with the 1st gen iPad you see a reflection on the screen of the 1st gen.
BTW, big thumbs up for featuring Ernie from 12:49 .

jakob says:

Great review as always! Just to confirm, can you use any Macbook USBC charging adapter and a USB C cable?

Ayo Olanrewaju says:

9:47 "…you just have to stick it in the butt of the other iPad and hit the pair button on the screen"

HaniSam4k says:

nice one, can you please do the surface laptop?

Nadir Khan says:

Hi Lisa excellent video. The new surface pro pen (100US$) is also backward compatible with surface pro 4/3.Please make a video detailing whether new surface pen with older models(surfacepro 3/4!) have similar low latency of under 22msec or not? In other words whether its the new surface pro or the surface pen which gives you this fast writing experience with extremely low latency? hope you got my point. Please make a video or here just answer my Question.kind regards.
