Lisa Gade reviews the BlackBerry KEYone, an Android 7.1.1 smartphone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard and BlackBerry Mobile’s usual customizations— Messaging Hub, BBM, DTEK security and more. The glass and metal phone has a 4.5” display running at 1080 x 1620, and it supports both GSM and CDMA networks. It’s sold unlocked and in the US, Sprint will sell it this summer as well.

The phone has a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage plus a microSD card slot. The KEYone has a 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and a fingerprint scanner. It’s priced at $549.

Batteries have weight to them… especially on the larger size… i'd prefer a phone with a decent battery capacity, missing the removable battery option (one of the worst mobile design flaws)… screen should have been made full size… or at least they should have launched a second edition simultaneously for those who prefer the digital option.

I had a terrible experience with blackberry. Never coming back.

I think it is over priced for its hardware specs, but It makes me happy to see someone is taking up the reigns on keyboard phones (there will always be a subset of people who will absolutely need this for their work) and this phone by no means "sucks". Well maybe the camera sucks.. but thats about it.

I prefer the privs design where the keyboard was hidden and optional.

Anyone remember the days when Lisa would only ever show her hands? Everyone used to think she was some blond bombshell in her twenties… just from her hands lol

Dear Lisa, Could you do a review on the top 5 or top 10 games for iOS and Android. I am crazy about games and as a kid never got the chance to play any because my parent were pretty strict about it. Now I don't know anything about games or stuff. Always wanted to buy a PS4 or a XB but I don't think that's going to happen in the near future so you are my only hope. Hope you consider my request. Thanks in advance.

can the keyboard keys be remapped for game use, like lets say remap the keys R,V,W,X to be used as the buttons from a standard controller. would be great for emulator apps.
